This Privacy Policy explains how SpeedBlock ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use our mobile game. SpeedBlock is developed by Atessoft.
SpeedBlock does not require you to register with an e-mail address, password, or any other personal information. In the classic game mode, your game progress and high scores are stored locally on your device only and are never transmitted to us or to any server. If you use the optional online 1 vs 1 mode, certain gameplay data is stored online as described in section 3.
SpeedBlock displays advertising (banner ads and optional rewarded video ads, e.g. to continue a game) provided by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). To deliver, personalize, and measure these ads, Google AdMob and its partners may automatically collect certain information from your device, such as:
This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google's own privacy policy, not by us. You can learn more about how Google uses this data, and manage your ad personalization settings, here:
You can also opt out of personalized advertising, or reset/limit your device's advertising identifier, in your device's system settings.
SpeedBlock offers an optional online 1 vs 1 mode with matchmaking and a rating system. When you use this mode for the first time, an anonymous account is created automatically via Google Firebase Authentication — no registration is required and no e-mail address, name, or other personal information is requested. This account consists of a randomly generated technical identifier that we cannot link to you as a person.
The following data is stored on Google Firebase servers (Cloud Firestore):
This data is used solely to provide the online mode: matching you with opponents of similar skill, replaying opponents' runs, and displaying rankings. Your display name, rating, and uploaded runs are visible to other players in matchmaking and in the ranking list. Firebase Authentication may also process technical connection data (such as your IP address) under Google's privacy policy. All data is transmitted encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).
Retention and deletion: Online match data remains stored so that other players can be matched against your uploaded runs. Uninstalling the App deletes all local data but not the data already stored online. You can request deletion of your online data (profile and uploaded runs) at any time by contacting us (see section 8) and stating your in-game display name including the number tag.
SpeedBlock is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We do not operate our own servers. Data processed for advertising and for the online 1 vs 1 mode is stored and secured by Google (AdMob and Firebase) under Google's security and privacy practices, linked above. All communication between the App and these services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to the online match database is restricted by server-side security rules so that players can only write their own data.
The online 1 vs 1 mode is entirely optional — the classic game works fully offline. You can uninstall the App at any time to remove all local data, and you can request deletion of your online data as described in section 3. To control ad personalization, use the "Opt out of Ads Personalization" option in your device's Google settings, or the "Reset advertising ID" option on Android.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
